Richard Brewin (Managing Director)
Richard has worked with hundreds of businesses and dozens of accountancy practices helping them to realise their potential. His vast experience comes from building and selling two of his own accountancy firms creating the perfect accountancy practice along the way (using the same systems and strategies in our very own Accountants Growth Programme).
Richard co-authored the very successful book “How To Quickly Grow Your Accountancy Practice”.
He is married with two children and is a long suffering Leicester City supporter.
Steve Hackney (Marketing Director)
Steve is a former professional rugby player with Leicester Tigers and England. His marketing programmes, systems and services have continually evolved since 1996 and have been used successfully by hundreds of accountants and thousands of businesses in over 250 industries and across every continent (in 46 different countries).
He co-authored “How To Quickly Grow Your Accountancy Practice” and regularly speaks all over the globe to accountants and other entrepreneurs.
Steve is married to Helen. They have three children, Thomas, Matthew and Olivia.
When he’s not entertaining the children, Steve enjoys watching rugby, athletics and football and keeps his competitive juices flowing by playing golf.
Peter Finlay (Commercial Director)
Peter started his business life as a life assurance salesman before building one of the UK’s largest independent direct insurance sales companies. He has personally trained over 2,500 sales people and sales managers throughout Europe and is an experienced franchise development and business strategist.
A keen sportsman although these days his participation is mostly as a spectator, however he still manages to take money from Steve whenever they manage a game of golf!
He’s married to Julie and they have a son, Joshua.
Janet Addie (Office Manager)
Member Support Team
Janet’s role is twofold: to ensure that an outstanding level of service is maintained for all members of the Programme by the Support Team; and secondly to manage all aspects of the running of the office. Previously Janet was the Marketing Assistant for a large firm of solicitors in Manchester. Janet’s interests include walking, travel, cooking and trying to grow vegetables on her allotment.
Member Support Team
Julia has over 30 years experience in office administration and finance working in both small and large companies, including five years at an accountants, gaining a wealth of knowledge in office systems.
Julia is passionate about animals especially cats and supports many rescues and shelters including her local sanctuary for whom she regularly takes part in fundraising activities. A keen supporter of Everton and loves 1980s music, particularly Duran Duran.
Carole Marsh (Accounts Receivable Manager)
Carole has over thirty years’ experience in a financial/customer-focused background, in both a high street bank and an established gym chain.
In her spare time, Carole is a loyal supporter of Sale Sharks RUFC and also enjoys travelling and horse-riding.
Carole and her husband, Tony, have a grown-up daughter, Kayleigh.
Afton Rhodes (IT & Website Development Manager)
Afton has established and manages our in-house website design & support department and provides technical solutions and advice to members. Technically minded, he takes care of our IT department and provides AFG with a well developed area of expertise.
Afton and his partner, Meg, have three young children, Evelyn, Lyra and Orson.
Whilst not switching computers off and back on again, he’s busy studying, volunteering at/or attending various humanitarian and global betterment events and writing fiction.
Website Design & Support Team Member
Dave’s role within AFG is to build personalised websites that sell & answer all queries web-related for our members, whilst keeping one eye on the future, listening to customer feedback and using innovative web technologies to find ways of making our service even better.
He is a keen runner, regularly competing in local 10K’s and is currently in training for the London Marathon later in the year. This will be his first attempt at the distance & while he would love to aim at the British record, his first concern is getting round in one piece!
